Youth Model United Nations will support the Road to Rio campaign
Youth Model United Nations Sri Lanka, was a very
exciting event, where everyone who
participated got a hand full of diplomacy. Together we shared different ideas
and addressed global problems with a spirit of justice.
The “Road to Rio
youth policy paper”, was discussed among the audience and all 300
participants were given a copy of the official youth policy paper of Sri Lanka.
We also discussed the implementation of activism in order to strive towards a
sustainable Sri Lanka. Through exposing the youth policy paper to very
energetic and capable audience, we lead them to practically apply their ideas
for the betterment of the world. We also initiated a local movement for climate
change activism so that passionate individuals could get together and make a
difference.
Overall this initiative was the first step in building
an enthusiastic green force in Sri Lanka. Many of the participants had positive
comments and innovative ideas to add momentum to the Road to Rio campaign. Together we look forward for a great campaign
to make a positive milestone in the history of Sri Lanka.
